Efficiency of online education in India

We all want to see progress all around, in ourselves, in our country and in the world. But what makes us grow or how this progress happens? Definitely! our ability to solve problems, our understanding or can be said education.

We all want to see progress all around, in ourselves, in our country and in the world. But what makes us grow or how this progress happens? Definitely! our ability to solve problems, our understanding or can be said education.

Here it is clear how important education is for the overall progress of a country. But what if our education system spoils all these in the name of online class. Yes! Here I am showing the reality of online classes and how effective these classes are.

There are lots of difficulties in attending online classes but our system has never raised concern about this and still continues online classes when this can be turned to offline mode for better education.

Online education can be an option in our difficult times but cannot be the replacement of our education system. From march 2020 we all are waiting for our education to be in offline mode but still after more than one and half year it is in its worthlessness or can be said in online form. Many of the students have completed half of their under-graduate course without even visiting the college and of course without gaining any knowledge.

Here are the list of the problems that students are facing in online education system-

High speed internet coverage:- Around 65% population in India resides in rural areas, means 2/3rd population in India are rural population.

According to the financial express more than 70% people in rural India have not access to the Internet. Bihar has 21.69% access to the internet, Uttar Pradesh has 21.65% , Jammu Kashmir-16.58% access to the internet in rural areas. And also not everyone in urban area would have access to  high speed internet.

So the major question arises here, when more than half the population in the country do not have access to the internet then how can one expect education/progress in its full potential. But our education system watches all these in silence.

Atmosphere: Can you compare the quality of education where a teacher is teaching in an offline class and every student is listening to him/her than in a situation where a video is playing before a student and he/she is sitting in his home where his mother is cooking and calling him repeatedly. I think there is no comparison in both situation and quality of education.

One cannot separate themselves from family members for the whole day to attend online classes. And I suppose if  one does it then he might feel sleepy and sicky and won’t be able to concentrate in the class.

Electricity-  Electricity is also one of the major issues in attending online classes especially in rural areas. One cannot keep himself in a closed room and study if there is no electricity. And electricity cut for hours is quite normal in rural areas.

competition is being tougher all the time and if such major differences would be there then how can one expect a fair competition among all the students in India.

So its necessary that our school and colleges should open as soon as possible so that  a fair learning would be the path of every student.
