ICC Test Rankings: The advantage of beating the world champion, Team India reached number one in the rankings

Team India has registered a historic victory by defeating New Zealand in the Mumbai Test. With this, the Indian team has now become the number team in the Test rankings. The new ranking has been released by the ICC after the end of the India-New Zealand Test series, in which Team India has become number one.

The special thing is that Team India has achieved this feat by defeating the current World Test Championship winner New Zealand and has removed it from the number one chair. Now India has a total of 124 points in the ICC rankings.

India’s Test team has become very strong under the leadership of captain Virat Kohli. Team India has been on the number one position continuously from 2016 to 2020. After that Australia and New Zealand had achieved this position for some time.

Later India achieved this feat again, but after losing the Test Championship, Team India reached number-2. Now the challenge before the pair of captain Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid will be to retain this position and also win in South Africa.

Apart from the Test rankings, if we talk about the World Test Championship, then Team India is currently at number 3. Sri Lanka and Pakistan are part of the top 2. Team India may have more points, but because of the winning percentage, Team India is at number three.
