Tamil Nadu COVID Restrictions: Night curfew in Tamil Nadu from tomorrow; Complete lockdown on Sunday

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu COVID Restrictions have been tightened. Tamil Nadu Night Curfew announced tomorrow (January 6). Sunday will be a complete lockdown. The night ban is from 10 pm to 5 am. With the daily covid rate in Tamil Nadu hovering around 4,000, the DMK government has decided to impose covid restrictions in the state. Schools were ordered to close. Classes one to nine will be conducted online.

In addition, restrictions will be imposed on colleges. The government has asked IT companies to stay work-from-home. The number of people attending public and private functions in Chennai city limits has been reduced. The mega vaccination campaign has been postponed to Saturday as Sunday was a complete lockdown. But will not affect essential services such as milk and vegetables. The petrol pump and gas station will be operating full time.

Another neighboring state of Kerala, Karnataka, has also tightened covid restrictions. Restrictions similar to lockdown have been imposed in Karnataka. A night curfew and a weekend curfew have been declared until January 19. Classes 1 to 9 have also been suspended, the health minister said. Holidays have been declared for schools in Bangalore except classes 10,11,12.

Restrictions have been placed on marriage and posthumous ceremonies. 100 people are allowed if the wedding is inside the auditorium and 200 people are outside. Theater, pub, bar, restaurant, etc. should be functional only to accommodate 50 percent of the people.
