Woman raped by gang on train robbery; 4 arrested.

Mumbai: A woman was gang-raped by an eight-member gang on a train in Mumbai. The incident took place on Friday night on the Pushpak Express from Mumbai to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Police arrested four accused. The search for the rest continues.

The eight-member team boarded the train from Igatpuri town station, 120 km from Mumbai. They entered the sleeper coach, robbed the passengers, and then raped a woman. Six people were injured as they tried to stop them.

When the train reached Kasara station, the passengers made a noise. Railway police on arrival arrested two persons. The other two were later arrested. Rs 34,000 worth of goods were recovered from them. The case was registered for rape and theft. A detailed investigation is underway, officials said.
